Unveiling a Unique Steam Demo: Controlling a Turdy Character in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and enthusiasts have discovered numerous engaging indie games. Yet, one is particularly notable for its offbeat concept. Titled Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game lets you play a hero that is actually a piece of poop striving to make its way to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."

The gameplay is easy to grasp: just use a single jump button. In one hundred fifty challenges, encounter mini-bosses and unlock a market to acquire skins for your poop character.

Execute your actions precisely, as a error requires restarting the level. Jump using bubbles to launch the poop higher, traverse crumbling surfaces, and touch triggers to open hidden paths. Earn currency and use them on tougher levels as the action gets crazy.

In terms of design, the demo shows off eye-catching level designs and catchy background music. The simple graphics featuring shifting abstract forms could recall fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

Although difficult to recall other games where you are a dung character, gaming frequently included fecal matter. For example, in Death Stranding, you can make throwables from character droppings. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as fertilizer. Unsurprisingly, such content shows up extensively in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its silly concept, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive awards, like being named best at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is accessible at present on Steam, with the full game scheduled to arrive on computers on November 19.
