NFL Recap: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a close win over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Defensive Display Wins Game

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following conceding a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to drive for a possible victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

Fields struggled throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented following the game.
