“It was unfortunate. That was essentially an exchange with our fans out in front of us,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, our fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the gesture was completely accidental, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply put up the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was accidentally done. I’m not kidding. Should you call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
